Where am I now?
I am currently working freelance for a range of clients; see my portfolio.
Up until April 2006 I spent two years on the website of South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) as we worked to meet e-government targets. Projects undertaken on the SLDC website included:
- an application to manage Committee Minutes
- forms for challenging parking penalty notices, applying for jobs, making complaints etc
- conversion of sites from ASP into ASP.Net
- ensuring sites meet accessibility standards
- conversion of a series of mainframe applications into SQL Server with ASP.Net and MS Access front ends
Before working for the council I worked on a project for a well known Building Society converting data from Microsoft Access to SQL Server and providing a Windows application written in C#.NET.
For three years, from early 2000 to April 2003, I worked as a consultant for JPi, a web design and integration company based in Kendal in the Lake District. While at Jpi I programmed many locally and nationally based sites using SQL Server, ColdFusion and ASP
